ACTIVITIES

The Alliance is involved in our activities which include: organizing the 2007 Regional Conference on Sustainable Buildings and Construction, 2nd Annual Toronto Regional Green Building Festival, a seminal publication entitled Canada Innovates: Sustainable Buildings Book Project and an awards program to recognize excellence in sustainable building practice.

The Toronto Regional Green Building Festival

In 2005, the Alliance successfully launched the Toronto Regional Green Building Festival. The Festival serves as the Golden Horseshoe’s premier annual event to bring together products, service providers, utilities, developers, designers and all levels of government for an inspiring and informative event around sustainable planning, design and construction.

Building on the success of the inaugural Festival, the Alliance will be hosting the 2nd Annual Toronto Regional Green Building Festival in October of 2006.

Again this year, the core conference and trade show will be "bookended" by two days of related activities including specialized training, design workshops, and in-depth breakout sessions.

Specific objectives of the 2006 event include:
  • Planning, encompassing both community and building planning efforts
  • Design, with a focus on the potential for improved environmental performance
  • Construction, including direction on materials and methods
  • Financing, including capital, operations, and productivity

Who should attend?
  • Developers
  • Architects
  • Building owners and operators
  • Consulting engineers
  • Designers and planners
  • Energy utilization and renewable energy experts
  • Environmental consultants
  • Policy makers from all levels of government
